
Accreditation procedure

In accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Decision No. 243 of 23 November 2006 on improving the procedure for accrediting representatives of the mass media to State bodies The Oliy Majlis Commissioner for Children's Rights (Children's Ombudsman) is carrying out organisational work to accredit journalists.
According to this Resolution, the application of the editorial office must specify:
Name and type of mass media;
Specialisation;
Territory of distribution;
E-mail address;
Telephone and fax numbers of the editorial office;
Surname, first name and patronymic of the correspondent submitted for accreditation;
Equipment to be carried by the correspondent in order to fulfil his/her professional duties.
The application shall be accompanied by a certificate containing detailed information (official position, passport data, copies of the correspondent's diploma, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers) and four photographs of the prescribed form.
An application for accreditation of a correspondent is considered by the Oliy Majlis Commissioner for Children's Rights (Children's Ombudsman) within one month of receipt of the relevant application.
The number of accredited correspondents is determined by the editorial office in conjunction with the accrediting body.
In the event of a favourable decision, the accrediting body draws up and issues a certificate of accreditation for a media correspondent within one week of the decision being taken, in the form set out in annex No. 2 to these regulations.
